The Bene Gesserit

The Bene Gesserit is a secretive order of women who have mastered the art of manipulating genetics and human behavior through their mastery of the Bene Gesserit "Other Memory" technique. Bene Gesserit breeding programs seek to create the perfect human being, the Kwisatz Haderach, who will be able to control the universe and bring about a new age of peace.

The Bene Gesserit are a highly disciplined and organized group, with a rigid hierarchy and a strict code of conduct. They are also extremely secretive, and their true goals are known only to a select few. This secretive nature has made them a source of both fear and respect throughout the Imperium.

History

The Bene Gesserit were founded on the planet Rossak by an unknown woman known as the Mother Superior. The Mother Superior believed that the human race was in danger of extinction, and that only by manipulating genetics and behavior could humanity be saved.

The Bene Gesserit quickly became one of the most powerful forces in the Imperium. They used their genetic manipulation skills to create a network of agents and supporters throughout the known universe. They also played a major role in the development of the Spacing Guild, which gave them control over all interstellar travel.

Organization

The Bene Gesserit are organized into a strict hierarchy. The Mother Superior is the supreme leader of the order, and she is assisted by a council of Reverend Mothers. The Reverend Mothers are the most powerful and influential members of the order, and they are responsible for training the younger members.

The Bene Gesserit are divided into several different "Wings," each of which has its own specific function. The Missionaria Protectiva is responsible for spreading the Bene Gesserit religion throughout the Imperium. The Bene Tleilax are responsible for genetic engineering and experimentation. The Suk School is responsible for training warrior-nuns.

Goals

The ultimate goal of the Bene Gesserit is to create the Kwisatz Haderach, a male who will be able to control the universe and bring about a new age of peace. The Bene Gesserit believe that the Kwisatz Haderach will be born to a daughter of the Atreides and Harkonnen families, and they have been working for centuries to bring about this union.

The Spacing Guild

The Spacing Guild is a powerful organization that controls all interstellar travel in the Imperium. The Guild is made up of Navigators, who are mutants who can "fold space" and travel faster than the speed of light.
